Las Vegas show comes to Saskatchewan

Nov 22, 2017 | 1:24 PM

Fans of the classic hits Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like A Man, or Sherry won’t want to miss a musical show coming to Melfort next month.

Oh What A Night — a tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, will be at the Kerry Vickar Centre Dec. 5.

Producer and director Michael Chapman said the troupe is not doing an impersonation of the group.

“The audience feels like they get to know our four stellar performers during the entire course of the show….it’s very intimately involved with the performers themselves through the music of Franki Valli and the Four Seasons,” Chapman said.

The two-hour show will be divided into two parts.

The first part is the tribute and the second half is a celebration of the Christmas season featuring the music of the late great Andy Williams.

Chapman said Williams had personally invited the cast to appear with him at his Moon River theatre in Branson, Missouri and they performed with Andy for three seasons.

“Unfortunately during the last season we were with him he took ill and was so gracious and gave Oh What A Night a spot in his Christmas shows so now to keep his memory alive we tour during the Christmas season with the second half of the show being all the big Christmas hits of Andy Williams,” Chapman said.

The show began its Canadian tour in Halifax Nov. 21.

Chapman said they had a full house.

“It’s classic pop rock music that each of the songs tells a story and is so hummable and danceable and it’s all being played today on the radio,” he said.

The cast will also makes stops in Regina (Dec. 4) at the Conexus Arts Centre and North Battleford (Dec. 6) at the Dekker Centre.

Tickets are still available at the box office.
