Holly & Heels to celebrate women in business

A first of its kind event in North Battleford looks to celebrate the accomplishments of female entrepreneurs.

The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first annual Holly & Heels event on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Don Ross Centre in North Battleford.

Linda Machniak, executive director of the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce said she was very pleased with the event’s offerings.

“We have a terrific guest speaker lined up plus many prizes to be given out and so much more,” she said.

Guest speaker Melissa Squire of Alchemy Collective will serve as guest speaker. Squire is originally from the Battlefords and Machniak is excited to have her at the Holly & Heels event.

“Melissa has a very interesting story to tell,” she added. “She got her start sewing with her grandmother and translated that into a passion for fashion and design and now works out of a studio in Saskatoon.”  

Participants are encouraged to bring their business cards for a chance to win special prizes.
