Following a road trip where the club took six of a possible eight points, the Battlefords North Stars hopped from eighth to sixth in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League top-20 rankings.

The North Stars (15-3-1) are now joined by the Melfort Mustangs (16-4-3-1, 17th) as the only Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League representatives.

Last week, Battlefords fell from third to eighth after they were shut out in their lone game of the week, 1-0 to Weyburn.

This week, the North Stars lost to Notre Dame on Wednesday but rebounded with three wins in three nights against Estevan, Weyburn, and Yorkton, all on the road.

The Carleton Place Canadians (27-2-0-2) of the Central Canadian Hockey League are the new number one nationally.

Battlefords will host Kindersley on Tuesday night before a home date with the Hounds on Friday. On Saturday, they travel to Humboldt.
