Battlefords-Lloydminster residents off to polls Dec. 11

Constituents of Battlefords Lloydminster will be off to the polls on Dec. 11 to elect a member of Parliment and for the first time in 20 years, Gerry Ritz name will not be on the ballot.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted on Sunday that four federal byelections will be take place on Dec. 11 including Bonavista-Burin-Trinity in Newfoundland, South Surrey-White Rock in B.C as well as to replace Arnold Chan of Scarborough-Agincourt in Ontario who passed away from cancer on Sept. 14.

Ritz was elected as the Reform Party candidate in the 1997 general election, and then re-elected with the Canadian Alliance in the 2000 election and was the sitting member of Parliment for the area representing the Conservative Party of Canada from 2004 until Oct. 2.
