Twin Rivers rink looking for better fortunes today in Manitoba
It’s back on the pebbled ice for North Battleford’s Robyn Silvernagle rink Saturday as day two of competition at the Canad Inns Women’s Classic gets underway in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
The local team is 1-1 after opening day at the triple-knockout event, which features 32 teams on the World Curling Tour vying for $60,000 in prize money.
The Silvernagle foursome made up of Kara Thevenot of Prince Albert (lead), Dayna Demers of Meadow Lake (second), Jolene Campbell of Regina (mate) and Robyn Silvernagle (skip) beat Julie Tippin of Woodstock, Ont. 7-3 in their opening matchup Friday morning but dropped their second contest 11-4 to Michelle Englot of Winnipeg in the late afternoon draw.
Five points in the sixth end by Englot sealed the deal for the Winnipeg squad who moved to 2-0 after day one action.
