The Roughriders are welcoming back a hometown boy, adding wide receiver Chris Getzlaf to the practice roster.
The Canadian wide receiver spent the majority of his CFL career with the Riders, originally signing with the team’s practice roster in 2007.
He was named the league’s Most Outstanding Canadian when the team won the 2013 Grey Cup.
In 2015, Getzlaf’s contract expired and he was not signed again by the Riders. Instead, he signed with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2016. But the Eskimos released him last month.
More to come.
