New Saskatchewan single health authority launching in December

Sep 21, 2017 | 5:52 PM

The province’s health regions will operate as a single body before the end of the year.

The new Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) CEO Scott Livingstone said all operations and employees of the 12 current health regions will transfer over to the new province-wide authority on Dec. 4, 2017.

A centralized office will be located in Saskatoon and Livingston said recruitment will begin for vice-president and physician executive teams for northern, rural and urban health areas.

“The separation with northern, urban and rural was… to represent the importance of portfolios across the province, not just inside the two urban centres,” Livingstone said.
