Aug 31, 2017 | 7:28 AM

It’s going to be another smoky, hazy day in area and it could stay that way until the weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a special air quality warning for areas surrounding the Battlefords, Meadow Lake, Unity and Prince Albert.

High levels of air pollution due to smoke from the forest fires in Northern Saskatchewan will continue to affect much of the area.

As of Wednesday, 33 forest fires were burning in the province including one that has forced the evacuation of more than 700 residents from Pelican Narrows over the past 48 hours. To date this summer the province has had 296 wild fires burn in the province.
