RCMP report no major injuries after N.B. collision

Local RCMP say there were no serious injuries following a rollover at the South end of North Battleford last week.

On June 27 at roughly 4:50 p.m. a Grand Caravan mini-van collided with a pick-up truck on Highway 4 at the intersection at South Railway Ave. near the Don Ross Centre. As a result of the crash, the van flipped onto its roof.   

At the time of the crash, the minivan was turning left from Highway 4 towards South Railway Avenue when it was struck by a pickup truck heading towards North Battleford on Highway 4.

Battleford’s RCMP Sgt. Carl Dinsdale said there were no major injuries.

The driver of the minivan was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution where they were treated and released.

The officer said driver visibility may have been obstructed by oncoming traffic at the time of the crash.

Dinsdale said the investigation remains ongoing, but also reminded drivers to be careful.

“There are times of the day when that intersection gets quite busy,” he said. “(Drivers) should exercise caution and take a few extra seconds and ensure that it’s clear.”
