Charges laid following weekend standoff

North Battleford RCMP have charged two male adults following Saturday’s standoff at 101st St., just north of 20th Ave.

Darby Johnson, 18, and Marty Moccasin, 23, both of North Battleford, have been charged with three counts of pointing a firearm, one count of possession of a weapon, one count of possession of a firearm, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, one count of  possession of a firearm while prohibited, and one count of mischief.

The standoff occured on Saturday for several hours, and involved Battlefords RCMP, the Emergency Response Team, Community Safety Officers and K-9 units. Both Johnson and Moccasin eventually came out of the house and were arrested without incident. 

Police said a long barrel firearm was located and seized during the search.
