On Air for Healthcare building momentum

The donations are starting to pour in as the 2nd annual On Air for Healthcare Radiothon builds steam heading into the second quarter of the broadcast.

The 12-hour event is raising $380,000 to replace aging equipment in the Ears Nose and Throat (ENT) department for Dr. Abraham Awobem’s practice at the hospital.

“We are currently sitting at $25,000 dollars,” said Claudette McGuire Executive Director of the BUH. “We are thankful for every donation we have received so far.”

The money raised will help replace the aged equipment in the ENT department some of which has been there for almost 40 years.

“Every donation counts whether its five dollars or $500 dollars it all goes to help us reach our goal,” added Nic Fransoo, Program Director at Q98.
