112 year old temperature record almost falls

While Thursday may have been the warmest day of 2017 so far, it was just shy of the all-time temperature high in the Battlefords.

By mid-afternoon yesterday the mercury had risen to 21.4 C. The initial record was set in 1905 when temperatures reached 22.2 C.

It was also warm in Meadow Lake yesterday reaching 17.7 C, but not warm enough to beat the 20.6 C record set back in 2005.

The provincial hotspot on Thursday was Leader which recorded a temperature of 22.6 C.
