Wall to make pre-budget announcement via social media

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall took to social media Sunday night to set up an announcement on the province’s finances.

Wall tweeted that he’d have an important message to release via Facebook at 9 a.m.

The province is getting ready to release what’s widely expected to be a tough budget on Wednesday, with the Wall government facing a projected deficit of $1.2 billion.

Previously, Wall has stated that tax changes could be coming, in an effort to get the province’s revenue less reliant on resource prices.

The premier has also hinted that his government may opt to take more time to get rid of the deficit, citing worries that cutting too much, too fast could damage the province’s economy.
