Three assaults in two hours keep RCMP busy

Battleford RCMP had a very busy 24-hour period responding to 41 calls on Monday and Tuesday including three assaults within a two-hour span.

The first assault occurred on the 1700 block of 105 St. in Battleford at 12:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. According to an RCMP media release, approximately one hour later a man was arrested following a second assault at the 1500 block of 107 St. Police were then called to a rural area of North Battleford following an assault complaint at 2:30 p.m. No further details were released on the complaints.

In an unrelated call, thieves made off with some hockey equipment when a vehicle was broken into on the 100 block of 22 St. in Battleford. Cpl. James Fenrich of the Battleford RCMP reminded residents to be vigilant and keep vehicles and houses locked.

Police also responded to a pair of break and enters on Monday.
