‘It’s business as usual’:BUH chair

As the government begins the task of amalgamating Regional Health Boards in the province, the Board of Directors of the Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) said nothing will be changing with the BUH Foundation as far as they are concerned.

BUH Foundation Chair Mike Zaychkowsky said donations made to the foundation will continue to remain in the Battlefords and support the BUH and the Battlefords Region Home Care (BRHC).

“It is business as usual at the BUH Foundation. All donations and fundraising efforts will continue to support our hospital,” Zaychkowsky said. “Any equipment that we have purchased or have committed to purchase in future will remain at the BUH and BRHC.”

The Foundation board felt it was important to reassure the public in wake of the on-going changes to the Regional Health Board changes that the BUH was committed to provide the best possible care, experience and health for the members of the Battlefords and surrounding communities.

“We spoke with David Fan of the Prairie North Health Region and MLA Herb Cox and they both confirmed that with the provincial initiative taking place, the mandate of the BUH Foundation will not be affected.” Zaychkowsky added.

Zaychkowsky also noted the BUH is excited for its 2017 fundraiser for the hospital and said an announcement will be made on this venture in the coming weeks.
