Feb 14, 2017 | 5:00 AM

Two country music stars with local ties have received multiple nominations for the 2017 Saskatchewan Country Music Association Awards.

Brock Andrews, who was born in Wilkie and attended and graduated from John Paul II Collegiate in North Battleford, received five nominations including Male Vocalist of the Year, Emerging Artist Award, Single of the Year for “Collide” and Album of the Year  for “Eight.” He has also been nominated as Song of the Year (Composer) for “Collide” which he co-wrote with Codie Provost.

Spiritwood’s Brody Siebert will contest Andrews in the same categories after garnering five nominations of his own. His single “I’m In a Bar” and album “Lonely Town” are up for Single and Album of the Year awards.  “I’m In a Bar” was also a nominee for Siebert in the Song of the Year (Composer) category as well.

The Saskatchewan Country Music Association will hand out its hardware on Saturday, April 1 in Saskatoon.
