VANCOUVER — The University of British Columbia is seeking a new creative writing chair following its high-profile firing of author Steven Galloway in June.

The university says in a job posting on its website that it is looking for a “supportive, collaborative leader who fosters an environment of inclusion and compassion for faculty, staff and students.”

The posting says the expected start date is July 1 and the ideal candidate will have an international profile and experience in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate level.

Annabel Lyon and Linda Svendsen were appointed acting co-chairs of the program last November, when Galloway was suspended over what were only described as “serious allegations.”
