Canadian international Kadeisha Buchanan earns another soccer award

TORONTO — Canadian international defender Kadeisha Buchanan, who led West Virginia to the NCAA women’s soccer tournament final, has been named the TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Year.

A native of Brampton, Ont., Buchanan also previously earned espnW Player of the Year accolades.

Buchanan and Mountaineer teammate Ashley Lawrence of Toronto were named to the website’s post-season Best XI first team. 

Fellow Canadian international Jessie Fleming was named Freshman of the Year after scoring 11 goals for UCLA. The midfielder from London, Ont., also was selected to the Best XI third team.
