Habitat for Humanity house delayed again
It has already been delayed a year and according to the site manager, the very first Habitat for Humanity house in North Battleford could be delayed another several months due to contract work.
The North Battleford Habitat for Humanity House started construction in the spring of 2014 and was projected to be finished in December, 2015. A lack of skilled volunteers in August also delayed the project. Now in December of 2016, the house still isn’t livable and according to site manager, Ron Braun, won’t be until later on in the New Year.
“Unless a bunch of contractors came in and away they go, it might make it livable by February, but I can’t see that happening myself,” Braun said. “At this point I am the one doing the work here for both apartments.”
Braun said now the house needs electrical and plumbing done, but the contractors hired have been tied up with other projects around the city.
