Fransoo named SJHL d-man of the week

North Stars captain Kendall Fransoo was named the SJHL defenceman of the week on Monday morning, after posting a goal and three assists in three games last week.

He scored the first goal of Tuesday’s 4-2 win over Nipawin, while also assisting on the fourth goal. He also added two power play assists in Saturday’s high scoring affair against Estevan.

On the season, Fransoo is putting up his best offensive numbers of his career – by far – with 18 points through 27 games. Last season, he had 23 points in 57 games.

His leadership and defensive ability have always been more important than his offensive contributions, however, this season he is showing he is no slouch when it comes to putting up the points.

Fransoo is a veteran of 211 SJHL games over the last four years.
