Police determine cause of death in tragic Amber Alert case

Nov 15, 2016 | 9:35 AM

Police have released further information on the tragic ending to last week’s Amber Alert.

Officers are still investigating the deaths of Nia Eastman, seven, and Adam Jay Eastman, 45, but have determined the cause after autopsies were conducted.

In a media release from RCMP Major Crime Unit South, a spokesperson said investigators determined the cause of death to be homicide and suicide. The specific cause of death will not be released for either person.

As there is no evidence to suggest there was another party involved in either death, police say no charges will be laid.
