Driver charged in Macklin two-vehicle collision

A driver was charged following a collision between a truck and a semi in Macklin yesterday.

At approximately 1 p.m. on Monday Nov. 14, Unity RCMP was called to a collision in Macklin between a semi carrying grain and a half-ton truck. The police investigation revealed the truck failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by the semi as it entered the intersection. The male driver of the half-ton was charged with disobeying a stop sign and driving without due care and attention.

He was taken to hospital in Provost, Alta. and released with only minor injuries.

The Unity RCMP is reminding drivers to be aware of their surroundings and obey all traffic signs.
