UPDATE: Nia Eastman found dead

UPDATE: According to RCMP, at roughly 12:45 p.m., Nia Eastman was found dead in a residence in Choiceland. Her father Adam Eastman was also found dead from self-inflicted wounds near a rural property. Police do not believe anyone else was involved. 

Nipawin RCMP have activated an Amber Alert for seven-year-old Nia Eastman.

Police have described her as 3’9” with shoulder-length blonde hair. She was last seen wearing pink eyeglasses, purple long-sleeved shirt with butterflies, pink skirt and purple leggings with silver trim at the bottom.

Police believe she was taken by Adam Jay Eastman, 45. He’s described as Caucasian, 5’9” with short brown hair and glasses.

Police are confirming Adam Jay Eastman is Nia Eastman’s father.
 
She was supposed to be returned home to her mother by 7p.m. night. A vehicle believed to be driven by Eastman was found on a rural property east of Smeaton near Snowden around 10pm.
 
RCMP are searching the area.
 
Police don’t know which direction Adam and Nia Eastman may be heading. It’s not known if  he has access to a second vehicle
