Nov 9, 2016 | 8:49 AM

A drowning is being investigated in west-central Saskatchewan.

It happened Monday afternoon near the community of Macklin, by the Alberta border, west of Unity.

RCMP said they received a complaint before locating the man.

The man tried to get away from officers by swimming across a slough, but didn’t make it.

Officers found him dead.

It’s not clear what the complaint was about.

The investigation has been turned over to Moose Jaw police.
