Table Mountain getting set for another season

Nov 8, 2016 | 4:00 PM

With the winter months approaching, eager skiers and snowboarders in the Battlefords and beyond are looking forward to a new season at Table Mountain Regional Park.

They’ll need to wait a few more weeks as General Manager Lawrence Blouin said Table Mountain is waiting for a minimum minus 10 degrees at night.

“Typically we try to open for the first weekend in December, hopefully we’ll make that date again this year but like I said, it’s all weather dependent,” he said.

Season passes are on sale at the early bird prices until Saturday, Nov. 26 and Blouin said people have been eager to purchase them ahead of the next snow fall.

“We actually had a fairly good run at the ski swap that took place last Friday and Saturday and we’re getting calls on a regular basis of people picking them up at the sale price,” Blouin said.

Table Mountain is also accessible to the newcomers and rookie skiers and snowboarders looking to try out the slopes for the first time.

“As long as you’re dressed for the weather, we can basically outfit you from skis, boots, polls or boots and snowboards,” Blouin said. “A full line of instructions for whether you’re a raw beginner… or more experienced.”
