The Prince Albert Northern Bears picked up their first home victory of the season, 5-2 over the Battlefords Sharks Wednesday at the Art Hauser Centre.

That’s the Bears first regulation win of the season as well, to go along with their pair of overtime wins and one loss. The Sharks are winless in their first three games of the season.

The Bears led 3-1 after the opening 20 minutes with goals from Kate Ball, Jadyn Kushniruk and Ireland South. Alyssa Roach answered for the Sharks.

After a scoreless second period, Jordan Kulbida scored a power play goal just 1:34 into the third period to make it a 3-2 game. But just 11 seconds later, Tobi Fontaine restored the Bears two-goal lead.
