Two children caught breaking and entering: RCMP

Two children were caught breaking into a home on Sweetgrass First Nation Monday evening according to Battlefords RCMP.

Police responded to a break and enter complaint at roughly 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5. The complainant caught two suspects, aged nine and 12, in the act.

Battlefords RCMP said charges are pending against the 12-year-old. Child and Family Services is following up with the nine-year-old and both of the children’s families.

RCMP responded to roughly 30 other calls for service over a 24-hour period ending at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Two complaints involving social media are under investigation. At roughly 2:30 p.m. on Monday, police received a complaint of suspects threatening to post compromising photos of a complainant on social media.

A few hours later police received a complaint that a phone was stolen and compromising photos of the owner kept on the phone were posted to social media.

Also on Monday, RCMP members conducting a vehicle stop found the driver of a vehicle to be impaired by drugs and the passenger suspected to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana. Charges are pending against the female driver, 19, and the male passenger, 18.
