Two dead in rollover north of Meadow Lake

A rollover just north of Meadow Lake has claimed the lives of two men.

RCMP responding to another call at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 came across the crash scene, approximately three kilometres north of the city along Highway 4. The wrecked vehicle was in a field 60 to 70 m off the highway.

Police found two injured people inside the vehicle, a man aged 22 and a 15-year-old girl. A 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl had been thrown from the vehicle, and the man, who had been driving, was declared dead at the scene.

A collision reconstructionist using a drone found the body of another passenger, a 19-year-old man, who was also killed. Autopsies will be done.

All the victims are from the Meadow Lake area. Their names have not been released by RCMP.
