Two downtown developments are up for debate during North Battleford’s next sessions of city council.

The meeting Monday, July 18 included a report on a new theatre agreement. Magic Lantern Theatres announced July 12 it planned to build a five-screen cinema on King Street Station vacant lot. The city has been trying since the 1990s to lure significant businesses to the location.

The agenda also included a report on the Central Park fountain project. On July 6 the city, Downtown North Battleford and Discovery Co-op said the park would receive a makeover thanks to an $89,000 grant from the Co-op Community Spaces program.

Also on the agenda are reports on polling places for the upcoming civic election and the annual report from the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts.
