N.B. McDonald’s gets a new look

Jul 14, 2016 | 11:32 AM

North Battleford residents will be pleased to know, their McDonald’s is back open after brief construction yesterday.

But the restaurant was open again Thursday morning, July 14, after a quick conversion to a new system added to McDonald’s locations across Canada. Owner and operator Sharon Taylor explained roughly thirty people spent the night installing new ordering kiosks and making changes to the kitchen.

“If you come in you’ll be amazed at the transformation that happened overnight,” Taylor said adding this included large double-sided touch-screen terminals allowing diners to customize their orders.

“We also have some guest experience leaders that will be taking care of our guests in our dining room with the self-order kiosks and the counter service and helping them be seated,” she said.

Taylor stressed customers still have the choice of ordering from the counter, or using the new kiosk.

“This just helps our guests personalize their orders a little bit, they get a little bit of hands on for their own desires of what they want to order and how they want to order at the restaurant,” she said.

Taylor also said the counter features a new baked goods selection and a customizable burger with a large selection of toppings, would be added later in July.

McDonald’s Canada announced in 2015 that it would be adding the kiosks to all of its 1,400 stores.
