Jun 29, 2016 | 7:01 PM

Students received well wishes, scholarships and awards for finishing high school today.

North Battleford Comprehensive High School held its 2016 graduation ceremony Wednesday, June 29.

Valedictorian Kiley Elmer, who is also North Battleford’s Junior Citizen of the Year, congratulated her fellow students and talked about all they had achieved before graduation day.

“Going forward we must explore ourselves to discover who we really are and who we aspire to be,” she said. “We should strive to be the best versions of ourselves.”

Elmer was one of 103 students who graduated from the Comprehens. She also one of several students to receive an award, one of which was the Rosemarie and Maurice Stadnyk Leadership Scholarship.

More than $30,000 was given to students through 65 scholarships and awards. Some were given out to students pursuing certain degrees or career training. Others were based on values like perseverance or leadership.

Graduating students Kyla Henry and Khoniss Wuttunee performed a jingle dress dance and fancy shawl dance for the crowd. Both students received awards, Henry for academic excellence and Wuttunee for dance.
