Jun 14, 2016 | 2:00 PM

The 2016-2017 season was unveiled last night at North Battleford’s Dekker Centre, revealing a roster of 14 acts including internationally acclaimed dance performers, comedians and musicians.

As general manager, Moe McGuinty stepped up to the podium and introduced each act to be featured at the centre.

The performances scheduled for the Gordon Tootoosis Memorial stage include a wide variety of new acts as well as a list of return favourites which, according to McGuinty, was well received by audiences.

This year an array of musical and dance performances are set to entertain audiences. These include a “Dances of India” showcase as well as the Juno award-winning Canadian dance performance, Neoindigena featuring the solo performance of Santee Smith.

Classical performances include The University of Saskatchewan Greystone singers and the North Battleford City Kinsmen Band.

There will also be a collaborative duet of the classical jazz musician, Tommy Banks and the crooner, Tim Tamashiro.

Some out-of-the-ordinary performances include Canadian hypnotist and comedian, Ty Reveen, and The Million Dollar Quartet, a Broadway Musical performance featuring tribute musicians of Sun Records fame, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

Crystal Shawanda, a three-time Juno award-winning YouTube sensation best known for her bluesy hit, Can you Let Go? is also set to make an appearance.

Returning acts include the Ennis Sisters. The trio from Newfoundland will once again be performing their Christmas concert, an act which Moe McGuinty said “received the most love from the audience last year.”

Local musicians will also be getting a chance on stage as they come together to form the Saskatchewan Country All-Stars, an evening which will include musicians from Battleford, Medstead, Spiritwood and Hawarden.

The season kicks off on August 31 with the Million Dollar Quartet and is set to finish next May.

Tickets are available in pre-season packages as well as available by box office starting July 1.
