May 16, 2016 | 5:04 PM

A 28-year-old Warman man is facing charges of making and possessing child pornography.

Jeremy Maendel was arrested over the weekend.

In a release issued Monday, police accused Maendel of making pornographic images of a three-year-old girl while she was asleep at a home in Duck Lake.

Police said Maendel was a friend of the girl’s family and was caring for her at the time.

According to the release, police arrested Maendel after getting a report from one of the girl’s relatives, who allegedly found the images on a smartphone.

Maendel made his first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday. He’s due back in court on May 18.
