N.B. property taxes set to increase

May 11, 2016 | 1:40 PM

North Battleford residents’ municipal property tax will officially increase by 2.5 per cent this year.

The 2016 city budget passed in December and city manager Jim Puffalt said residents should start getting tax notices as soon as next week.

“We actually had to get these done so we could get tax notices out,” he said. “It’s certainly a rigorous process we have to go through to make it happen but this was the last step.”

According to the Ministry of Government Relations, there will be no increase in the education property tax rates. These rates have stayed the same for the last three years.
