Smoker 50/50 money still unclaimed

If you went to the Smoker in North Battleford you could be $2,200 richer and not even know it. The winning 50/50 ticket from the event last Saturday has gone unclaimed.

“We are advertising as much as we can to find the winner,” Jim Irvine, treasurer of the Battlefords Wild Life Federation said. “We don’t get the money if it goes unclaimed. It will have to go back to the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Agency. It’s more work for us if it goes unclaimed.”

Anyone who runs a 50/50, is required to keep the funds for a full calendar year before returning it. According to Irvine, there is a slew of paper work involved if no one comes forth.

The winning ticket has to be presented to the gaming agency along with the corresponding half from the smoker.
