R.M. of Shellbrook declares fire ban

Apr 22, 2016 | 2:41 PM

The Rural Municipality of Shellbrook asks everyone living in the area to cease all burning activities, due to an elevated fire risk caused by extremely dry conditions and high winds.

Fire pits, leaves, brush and campfires are prohibited until further notice and residents will be informed of any changes.

The ban in Shellbrook comes on the heels of similar bans issued in the City of North Battleford and rural municipalities Redford and Mervin earlier this week.

Fines for violating a fire ban start in the range of a few hundred dollars and can reach $1,000.
