Man in white van approached boy in North Battleford: RCMP

Apr 19, 2016 | 8:46 AM

RCMP are asking residents in the North Battleford area for more information about a suspicious white vehicle.

On April 18, at roughly 8 p.m. in North Battleford, a 9-year-old boy was approached by a male driving a white, 15 passenger van with cardboard in a rear window. The driver is described as older, and First Nations in appearance.

On April 11 a similar incident was reported to RCMP in the Cando, Sask. area, although the vehicle in this situation was a white pickup truck.

RCMP wants to remind parents to talk to their children about the dangers of speaking to strangers and discuss appropriate safety precautions. Children are advised to travel with an adult or a friend and always inform parents of their travel plans.
