Another Battlefords store held up at knifepoint

Apr 19, 2016 | 6:30 AM

For the second time in a week, Battlefords RCMP are investigating an armed robbery.

Shortly before 10 p.m. on April 19, police say a male suspect entered the 29th Street Market in Battleford brandishing a knife. He ran away with some cash, but no one was hurt.

RCMP have released stills from the store’s surveillance video system. They depict a male suspect, 5’6” to 5’9”, with a husky build and a mask covered his face. He was wearing gloves, dark shoes, camouflage pants and a grey hoodie with a Saskatchewan Roughriders “100 Years” emblem.

There was no word from police whether this robbery was connected to a holdup April 11 at Wally’s Food Basket in North Battleford. The business was also held up by a masked male suspect armed with a knife.
