They’re off and running.

Saskatchewan politicians have begun a 27-day campaign for your vote, following Premier Brad Wall’s visit to Lt. Gov. Vaughan Solomon-Schofield to dissolve the legislature. As of Tuesday, March 8, voters in the Battlefords constituency had four options.

The incumbent is the Saskatchewan Party’s Herb Cox, who worked in real estate in North Battleford prior to being elected to the legislature in 2011. Cox has served in a number of roles in the Wall government, including government whip, and most recently Environment Minister. Cox’s past community involvement includes president of the Battlefords Real Estate Board and the Saskatchewan and Canadian Team Penning Association.

The New Democrats have nominated Rob Feist, a lawyer in the Battlefords and former captain in the Canadian Armed Forces. Feist, a University of Saskatchewan graduate who completed his first year at Northwest Regional College, is a member of the North Battleford Legion, Army Navy and Air Force Veterans, and the Ionic Lodge.
