No parole for Tammy Goforth for 17 years, Kevin Goforth sentenced to 15 years

A couple convicted of the death and neglect of two girls in their care have been sentenced in a Regina court.

Justice Ellen Gunn read out her sentences at Court of Queen’s Bench Friday morning.

Tammy Goforth was given a sentence of no parole eligibility for 17 years. Kevin Goforth was sentenced to 15 years of prison, reduced to 14 years with time served.

Tammy Goforth was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of a four-year-old girl who was in their care in 2012, and Kevin Goforth was found guilty of manslaughter in the death. Both were found guilty of unlawfully causing bodily harm in regards to a two-year-old girl in their care.
