La Loche educators are working hard to re-open classes at the La Loche Community School.

An open house will be held tuesday, Feb. 23 in the Ducharme Building for elementary students and community members. Another open house will be held in the Dene Building, where the shooting on Jan. 22 took place, onWednesday, Feb. 24. A Reclaiming Our School walk is planned for Wednesday, Feb. 24 as well.

Dr. Ken Ladouceur, director of education with the Northern Lights School Division, said in a press release they have finalized a Continuity Plan to guide the re-opening of the school.

Currently eight counsellors are on-site in La Loche assisting with the re-opening, as well as partners from the trauma response team.
