North Battleford man severely injured in snowmobile collision

Feb 20, 2016 | 6:02 AM

A 22 year old North Battleford man had one of his hands severed off in a single snowmobile collision late Friday night.

WPD Ambulance were already on scene treating the injured man shortly after 11:00 p.m. as RCMP arrived. With the help of the North Battleford Fire Department, STARS Air Ambulance took the man to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

Initial investigation revealed the snowmobile drove off a steep backslope at the edge of the highway road allowance. Speed, poor visibility due to the dark and unmarked hazards were the contributing factors of the collision.
