Feb 12, 2016 | 4:08 PM

There’s now a local connection on the board for Access Communications Co-operative.

Former part owner and manager of CJNB-CJNS, Q98 and The Rock in the Battlefords, David Dekker has been elected to the board for 2016.

Dekker has over 40 years worth of experience in broadcasting and has previously served as President for the Saskatchewan Association of Broadcasters and Western Association of Broadcasters. He has also been involved with access for quite a few years, going back to the days of the former Battlefords Community Cablevision Co-operative.

Access has also elected a new Chair of the Board in Ken Shaw, who has worked previously with Conexus Credit Union and has been on the Co-operatives board since 2012. Also elected to the board was Heidi Pearson from Regina who has a background in human resources.
